Tom Ford – An Award-Winning Perfume Design House
An award-winning designer, Tom Ford is often credited with reviving the fashion brand Gucci. As the creative director at Gucci, he was the man behind numerous fashion collections that were lauded by fashion critics all over the world.
While he was working at Gucci, he also created fashion collections and ad campaigns for Yves Saint Laurent’s that went on to win several awards for his contributions to the fashion house. He played an instrumental role in creating ad campaigns for YSL scents Opium and M7 which gave a hint of the future direction that his career was about to take. An acclaimed designer, when Tom Ford left Gucci in 2004, he kept the fashion world on its toes about his next move.
It was then that Tom Ford launched the iconic fragrance called Black Orchid. A unisex scent, Black Orchid was an instant hit combined with the massive marketing push and stellar ad campaign behind the perfume. By designing perfumes for both men and women, Tom Ford believes that a scent should not be confined to gender and the unisex nature of his fragrances further cements the fact that a perfume should be for everyone. The scents from Tom Ford’s design house have won prestigious awards including FiFis for the scents Violet Blonde, Cafe Rose, Grey Vetiver, Tom Ford for Men and many more.
In his career, Tom Ford has launched several popular fragrances including a prestige blend, Tom Ford Private Blend that launched its first fragrance Purple Patchouli 2007. Tom Ford also directed the film “A Single Man” in 2009. The movie went on to win several awards and accolades from the critics all over.
